 1   13hljdis   ((PORTLANDITE)),   $10 MINIMUM BID, Keokuk, Iowa,  3 x 3 x 1.5 cm, Miniature,  I believe the Portlandite is the white tabular crystals which are about 3 or 4 MM or perhaps the white chalky mass in the center.  The label says Porlandite WHITE which would make me think it refers to the white center mass.  Mindat shows tabular crystals but does not show Portlandite from Iowa.  This specimen is from a collection of micros and rare species in miniature sized specimens.  A loop or microscope may be needed to view the actual species, especially crystals if present .  
2    13hljdis   ((OTAVITE)), TYPE LOCALITY,  $10 MINIMUM BID, Tsumeb, Namibia,  7 x 6 x 3 cm, Cabinet,  Octaviite is Cadmium Carbonate with the Type locality being Tsumeb.  It is white to yellow brown in color.With my eye, I do not see separate crystals.  This specimen is from a collection of micros and rare species in miniature sized specimens.  A loop or microscope may be needed to view the actual species, especially crystals if present .

18   13hljdir   ((CALCITE on FLUORITE)),   $20 MINIMUM BID, Cave-in-Rock District, Hardin County, Illinois,  4 x 4 x 2.3 cm, Miniature,  Here is an aesthetic Fluorite and Calcite combination from Illinois.  All the major Calcite crystals are terminated and undamaged.  Some of the minor Calcite crystals are cleaved.  The Fluorite is a purple with minor yellow colored partially translucent crystal.  It looks like it was a partially etched or had only a small attachment to the larger part of a larger  Fluorite crystal.


   19     13idkjns   ((BARYTE with SAND inclusions)),   $15 MINIMUM BID, Norman, Cleveland County, Oklahoma,  7.5 x 7 x 6 cm, Cabinet,  A large and aesthetic floater with a cluster of complete Baryte crystals that grew in sand including the sand crystals within the Baryte crystals.  These "rose rocks" are the state rock of Oklahoma.

36   13hbdjis,   ((CUPRITE)), Early FOOTE LABEL,  $20 MINIMUM BID, Morenci, Arizona looks to be changed to Michigan, 10 x 7 x 3.5 cm, Cabinet,  Here is an early specimen from the 1880's of massive Cuprite.  The Foote label has Morenci, Arizona with a line through it and Mich inked to the right.  On mindat this label on the specimen  looks similiar to the label dated 1884 to 1890. 


 

37     13hbdjis,   ((TALC var STEATITE or SOAPSTONE)), Early FOOTE LABEL,  $20 MINIMUM BID, Soapstone Quarries, Phila. County, Pennsylvania, 11 x 7 x 3 cm, Cabinet,  Here is an early specimen from the 1880's from an early locality.  The Foote label Phila is nearly missing and hard to read- probably is Phila with the location seemly matching.  On mindat this label on the specimen  looks similiar to the label dated 1884 to 1890.  Also the following from Mindat "Soapstone quarry purportedly operating as early as the 18th Century, on observation of local soapstone headstones of early German-American district landowners found in the graveyard of St. Peter's Lutheran church (1761) on Church Road in Whitemarsh township, Just North of the district. The Soapstone quarry was recorded in operation by at least 1848, under the ownership of prominent Montgomery County attorney John Freedley. Purchased and operated in 1853 by wealthy Philadelphia marble merchant, Samuel Prince, the soapstone quarry became part of his country estate, aptly named "Rockdale." The quarry was listed as idle by the time of Gordon's publication (1922). "

42    09fdceir,   ((CELESTINE)),   $30 MINIMUM BID, Jabal al Akhdar, Cyrenaica, Libya, 9 x 7 x 4.5 cm, Cabinet,  Here is a rare and limited find.  A few of these were collected by Oz Krebs in 1962 and sold to collectors edge 5 to 10 years ago.  I am sure that no specimens are left for sale other than I have 2 or 3 left.  It is a large double terminated lustrous undamaged Celestine from the country of Libya.

White Hydromagnesite also present in a couple of areas and also a light coating of white Hydromagnesite over some faces of the Brucite.

   55   apo19  99atsmar   ((APOPHYLLITE, STILBITE)),   $10 MINIMUM BID, Jalgaon, Maharashtra, India,  6.5 x 5.5 x 5.5  cm, Miniature,  Here is a choice undamaged specimen of Apophyllite with Stilbite from Jalgaon.  The lustrous crystals are undamged and have sharp terminations except on termination has a flat termination which may be a 1 MM cleaved tip seen in the first photo bottom right opposite the stilbite.    Old material from 1999 from old case stock with a price of $300.   I just came across the box with a variety of great Indian miniatures from old stock and some duplicates from my Indian collection.  There were several specimens of these fine Apophyllite miniatures and  look like they came from the same pocket or find in 1999.

65   11hhceis   ((GOETHITE pseudomorph after PYRITE)),   $1 MINIMUM BID, Pelican Point, Utah County, Utah, 3.5 x 3.5 x 2.5  cm,  Miniature,  Pelican Point is famous for its Goethite pseudos after Pyrite.  These were commercial open pit quarried and sold at Tucson one year.  These were singles and clusters of cubic Pyrite crystals.  Over the hill on the west side of the mountain it has since be discovered that pseudomorphs also occur but their crystal shape is pyritahedrons rather than cubes.   Here is a crystal cluster with one main crystal with faces from several other crystals.  The bottom is contact to another large crystal.  Coloration is dark chocolate brown. 
  
66     13hhjjis   ((APOPHYLLITE)),   $1 MINIMUM BID, Jalgaon, Maharashtra, India,  12 x 11 x 7 cm, Cabinet,  Here is a nice colorless Apophyllite specimen from India.  There are a few cleaved crystals but overall in good shape for one of these Apophyllite specimens.
 
67    13hhjjis   ((APOPHYLLITE)),   $1 MINIMUM BID, Jalgaon, Maharashtra, India,  13 x 10 x 9 cm, Cabinet,  These geode like specimens are usually filled with Okenite but this one has lustrous blocky undamaged Apophyllite.  There is a crack in two places which is a little loose but still solid.  It could be stabilzed with some Elmers glue  comia. itSg re Here is a nice colorless Apophyllite specimen from India.  There are a few cleaved crystals but overall in good shape for one of these Apophyllite specimens.

 

68   9iddbis   ((COLEMANITE)),   $1 MINIMUM BID, Boron Open Pit, Boron, Kern County, California, 12 x 8 x 8  cm, Cabinet, Here is a large aesthetic Colemanite specimen.  Undamaged except along the top, the crystals have damage and one crystal in the front is missing.  Overall a nice large cabinet sized Colemanite specimen.  Also can be displayed sideways or standing upright.   ex Jim Minette collection.

   79    5ecbfts   ((QUARTZ)),   $1 MINIMUM BID, Mina Liliana, Chihuahua, Mexico,  3.3 x 1.6 x 1.1 cm, Miniature,  These were called chandelier quartz with the double terminated small daughter crystals attached to the main crystal sides.  The Liliana produced the small Quartz scepters and these larger chandelier Quartz.

81     95ecjtg    ((2nd STILBITE BOWTIE)),    $1 MINIMUM BID, Jalgaon, Maharashtra, India, 5 x 2 x 2 cm, Miniature,  NOTE:  I did not take a photo of this one.  It is the same size, etc as the 1st one.  Only difference is that the one side of the bowtie does not flare out quite as much as the other.  It is slightly smaller and is not quite as symmetric.    It is a floater with no damage or termsination.
